A winner of both the USA and World Championships in the event of a hurdle, Lolo Jones has reached her current standing after plenty of effort and enormous amount of perseverance. Jones was born to a motherless family with five children who were stricken by poverty and hardship as a youngster, experienced an incredibly difficult childhood. She lived with her mother in the basement of a church, and was always moving around. Jones had to be moved into a new school each during her time in high school due to this sporadic lifestyle. Jones was able to move away from her mother to Theodore Roosevelt to enable her to pursue her interest in track. She was a member of four families during her time in high school in order study all in the same place.
